Our students have been working hard on their data collection projects and they will be presenting them next Friday, March 27! If you would like to come and view presentations from 10:15-11:30. Every group has come up with a great research question and we are all excited to see the answers to these research questions!
We had a fantastic time at Monticello! The students enjoyed walking around and seeing Thomas Jefferson's home. We got to see Thomas Jefferson's incredible library, octagonal room design, and his green room. I hope everyone can take their families back to this historical site in order to see different pieces of artwork that your children created inspired by their journey.
We have added the last touches to our short stories that we started in January. I am very proud of the student's hard work, every story looks fantastic! Parents/Guardians are welcome to come into the classroom to view everyone's final work. Each student will get a chance to hang their work up around the classroom tomorrow during our language arts block.
In math we are starting our unit on Statistics this week! Students will be learning how to calculate probabilities and predictions. *REMEMBER TO TURN IN YOUR PERMISSION SLIPS AND MONEY FOR MONTICELLO! This is a friendly reminder that there will be a field trip on Wednesday March 11, to Monticello. All students will need $15, as well as a permission slip, turned into their homeroom teacher by Friday March 6.
This trip will give students the chance to explore life back in the life of Thomas Jefferson. It will be a fun and exciting time, and we hope all students have the opportunity to come! If you would like to chaperone comment below, or send me an email. Today was Valentines Day! In our Language Arts Class today we worked on creating a variety of different poems for someone special in our lives. We also got the chance to read a variety of poems aloud as well as independently.
Welcome back from winter vacation. I hope everyone had a wonderful few days off! I am looking forward to getting back into our classroom activities this week. In writing everyone is working on creating a short story about their vacation adventures (These will be published and hung up in our classroom, so be sure to come visit!).
In math class we are picking up with Geometry. All weekly assignments will be posted under the students tab. |
